Toasted Marshmallow syrup is one of the best syrups to make any time of the year.
Marshmallows are incredibly versatile. No matter the season or time of day, they’re never out of place. During summer s’mores are the vibe and during winter mini marshmallows are perfect on top of hot chocolate.
This marshmallow syrup recipe is the perfect addition to your morning coffee or nightcap cocktail. This recipe so incredibly delicious and there are only a few ingredients required to make it.
Let’s make this super easy toasted marshmallow syrup!
Marshmallow syrup recipe:
In a steel pan, toast marshmallows with a culinary grade torch. I toast my marshmallows until they are golden brown.
Although I usually like my marshmallows to be a little burnt when it comes to s’mores, for this syrup I refrain from burning them too much because the burnt bits can turn the syrup bitter and the burnt bits are harder to strain out later.
In a pot, bring 3/4 cup water to a boil
Add in toasted marshmallows, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla
Bring heat down to a low simmer and stir constantly until the marshmallows have dissolved.
You definitely want to keep your eye on it because it can easily bubble over!
And on the same note, you don’t want to over cook the syrup. As the syrup cools it becomes thicker and the thicker it gets, the harder it is to incorporate in your drinks.
Turn off the heat and let cool.
If there are any thick burnt pieces strain them out while you are bottling the syrup.
This marshmallow syrup will last 1 month in the fridge.
Cheers!
